About ten years ago, around the time I started my media company, I started to notice a few changes with my Dad. His reflexes weren’t quite as ninja like, his laser vision was no longer able to penetrate steel, and his tack-sharp, photographic memory had become … well … a titch blurry; so I thought I’d take some time and capture a little footage of him. Nothing too crazy, I just started to focus a little more on him and mom during the family get togethers and I also spent an extra day to capture him doing things that he loved. To be honest, he wasn’t too thrilled about the idea of me following him around for a day … “Who wants to watch a video about an old guy?” he’d say … but I kept the conversation light and after a short while it was like the camera wasn’t even in the room.

A few days later “Papa’s Story” was complete and I sent a copy to my siblings and also dropped a copy on my phone.

Within three years Dad developed vascular dementia and rapidly faded into a shadow of the man I remembered him to be; he was short-tempered and had little compassion for us kids who had become his primary care-givers. But despite all our frustrations, we had that video of Dad on our phones to reflect on during the dark times, reminding ourselves of the caring, loving father that we now only caught in glimpses.

That’s the heart behind the Goad Media Memory Bank. We want to help you capture your family’s stories because they NEED to be told … and told well!

Memory Banks are NOT just another tool you use to promote yourself on to bigger and “better” opportunities … but rather they are meant to be personal mementos of those most dear to you.

Includes everything in the “Premium” package PLUS we’ll come to capture other family gatherings with multiple interviews of those in attendance to make it more of an extended “This is US” experience!
